It is convenient to apply for a tourist visa to enter China. If you apply for a tourist visa to enter China, you do not need any documents from us.

If you apply for a business visa to enter China, you would need an invitation letter.

From the airport to the hotels

Pease take an authorized taxi in front of the gates of the arrival terminal. The second letter of the plates of all authorized taxis is “B” (the first letter is a Chinese character meaning “Capital”). One way fare costs around 110 yuan ($15). Notes below may be useful when taking a taxi.

To the Beijing Capital Airport

If you take an international flight, please arrive at the airport two hours before the time of departure. There are three terminals at the Beijing Capital Airport. Please make sure your departure terminal before taking a taxi. Notes below may be useful when taking a taxi.

From the Beijing Royal King Hotel to the conference site ( Siyuan Building )

Please walk toward west along the road on the northern side of the Beijing Royal King Hotel.

The gate of the park for basic research is located on the western side of the first crossover of that road.

Siyuan building is located in the northern-westen corner of the park.

The conference site is located on the first floor, and the lab of Mathematics-Mechanization is on the third floor of Siyuan building.

The following note may be useful if you can not find the Siyuan Building.

There will be wireless access available in the lecture hall. All participants will have access to the internet.

Electricity in Beijing is of 220v. You might need adapters to use laptops and other electronic appliances.

Big shopping malls accept international credit cards. Except stores specialized for international guests, most of grocery stores only accept Chinese currency, called "Ren Min Bi(RMB)". It is more convenient to use cash (small pieces such as 10 Yuan, 20 Yuan,...). You can exchange Chinese currency at the airports, the Bank of China. Exchange rates are listed at http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/english/home/biznews.html.

Although it is heard that tap water in Beijing is drinkable, most of residents still drink bottled water or boiled water.

Menus in many restaurants contain graphic descriptions of their dishes. Some restaurants have English menus.
