Abstract:
In this talk, we consider the number of rational points, in particular rational points with pairwise distinct coordinates, on a family of hypersurfaces defined by certain symmetric polynomials. We also propose a computational problem of a generalized Vandermonde determinant. It is a joint work with Daqing Wan (UCI).
